A fun and unique kayak, bike, run triathlon through Shelby Park and Bottoms in East Nashville.
The 4th annual Golden Pheasant Triathlon will be held on Saturday, September 25th. The race is a kayak, bike, and run that celebrates the search for the mysterious Golden Pheasant that once inhabited one of Nashville’s most beloved parks. Participants kayak for two miles on the Cumberland River, bike to and from Cumberland Park for ~6 miles, and finish with a 3 mile loop around Shelby. Proceeds benefit Friends of Shelby Park and Bottoms and Walk Bike Nashville, and there will be local prizes for best costume and race winners for each category. Don't have your own kayak? No sweat - just add on a single or tandem kayak rental from Cumberland Kayak. Participants will receive golden sunglasses, snacks, and beeswax lip balm from the Shelby Park bees!
