Professional Development Workshop: Teaching Science Outdoors

Join Warner Park Nature Center naturalists for a free professional development experience!

You will learn routines and strategies that support students’ understanding of what science is, how the Warner Parks Nature Center does science and how to lead students in authentic science investigations. The experiences provided will set the foundation for making accurate observations, learning how to ask meaningful questions and how to engage in argument from evidence. You’ll come away with lessons aligned with state standards, strategies for teaching outdoors and student-centered routines that will ignite wonder and curiosity in your students, both inside and outside the classroom. A certificate for 5-hours of Professional Development will be provided.
