Although she was born and raised in Columbia, Tennessee, Chef Sarah Gavigan creates some of the Nashville’s very best bowls of ramen — the time-honored Japanese bowls of broth and noodles. Otaku Ramen, her co-owned (with husband Daniel) small bricks-and-mortar restaurant since December 2015 in The Gulch, carries some wonderful versions. Arrive aggressively hungry: These bowls are meant to be slurped not daintily spooned, with a countdown of no more than 10 minutes from start to satisfying finish for maximum flavor.
