As summer sweeps over Nashville, cravings for sunshine, warm breezes, cool beverages and good music consume my thoughts. As I sit behind my desk with the work day ahead, I can’t help but think, “Will I let another summer slip by without sipping in every drop of its euphoric, sun-kissed goodness?”

Summer offers many opportunities to enjoy the outdoors (and, being Nashville, a lot of exquisite live music). But, and I may be biased, there’s an event that’s sure to hit all the points on your summertime wish list.  It’s called Red, White and Brew and it’s taking place on July 11th (this weekend, folks!). Picture sipping on an ice cold beer or a glass of wine, listening to some sweet tunes from some of Nashville’s finest musicians, sampling foods from over ten of Nashville’s most delectable restaurants, and enjoying it all in Nashville’s beloved Sevier Park. And, all for charity. Simply and genuinely put, it’s a great time for a great cause.

Among the vendors & restaurants participating are Bao DownChago’s Cantina, Party Fowl, The Local Taco, Mafiaoza’s, Hoss’ Loaded Burgers, Nashville Sweets, Red Bull, Bacon and Caviar, Omni Nashville, Four & Twenty Blackbirds Food Truck, Noodles & Company and Goozy. Sponsors include Pilot, Bass Berry Sims, Lipman Brothers, Kroger and 12South’s own Edley’s Bar-B-Que.

Tickets are $25 in advance and can be purchased at the NowPlayingNashville.com Red, White & Brew tickets page. They go up to $30 if you purchase them at the park. Admission includes two drink tickets, samples from all participating vendors and a great backdrop of live music to get you in the good-time mood. Your ticket also includes a healthy dose of fresh air, some great photo ops (#redwhitebrew), yard games, and time well spent with your friends. Perhaps a nice tan, too, weather permitting?

Feel free to email me for more information on Red, White & Brew. For more information on how the event supports Nashville non-profits, check out The Tomorrow Fund.

So, let’s all take a collective deep breath, another sip of coffee, and commit to not letting another summer slip by. Let’s press pause on our busy lives to let in a healthy dose of summer, sprinkled with smiles, relaxation, and topped with the sweet satisfaction of a summer day well spent.

We hope to see y’all there!
