The St. Jude Rock ‘n’ Roll Nashville Marathon & 1/2 Marathon is a great fitness event that gets national recognition and attracts more than 30,000 runners, wheelchairs and walkers*. This upcoming weekend is sure to be an exciting one filled with marathon festivities including the Health & Fitness Expo and the post-race Toyota Rock n’ Roll series featuring The Wallflowers.

While the Marathon brings some extra excitement to Nashville, it is far from the only thing happening around town this weekend. If you are coming into town for the Marathon and want to experience the city while you’re here, there is plenty to check out!

Barry Manilow will be playing Bridgestone Arena this Thursday, April 28. He is hitting the road ONE LAST TIME, and is going to perform for us in Nashville after having to postpone the February 12 date. The Tour is a major undertaking and as Manilow said, “is my way of thanking everyone for their years of support…one last time!”

What better way to reward yourself than a refreshing cocktail? Music City Spirits & Cocktail Festival, now in it’s third year, is a multi-day, city wide celebration of the rising spirits and cocktail culture that has grasped Nashville over the past 8 years. This festival features individual events such as Bourbon & Bluegrass, Shandy Social: A Tour of Southern Beer Cocktails, The Bloody Mary Experience, and TN Distiller’s Showcase.jazz in courtyard

If you’re looking to unwind and get out of the city, you can sip some wine and enjoy live music at Arrington Vineyards. Live music events include Jazz in the courtyard and Bluegrass in the Barn and occur almost nightly. Music events are free, the wine is great, and the scenery is unreal.

If you love music and want to catch some great local acts before The Wallflowers play Bridgestone, head on over to Lightning 100’s Spring Block Party on Saturday afternoon beginning at 4:00 p.m. for great music by Kaleo, Roots Of A Rebellion, Future Thieves, Simo, Matt Walberg & The Living Situation!
