Bar/Tavern - Restaurant/Cafe
434 Houston Street, Houston Station, Nashville, TN 37203
Bastion in Houston Station mark one of the Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood’s best reclamation projects — it’s the site of an old machine shop — as well as the return of Chef Josh Habiger to a kitchen of his own. Habiger was the original co-head chef at The Catbird Seat and later started Pinewood Social for the Strategic Hospitality group, which also owns Bastion. Just months after its February 2016 opening, Bastian already had local critics calling it one of the city’s best restaurants. Habiger has assembled a crackerjack crew to prepare and serve a five-course small plates menu for parties of one to four.
Full bar. Serving dinner 5:30-9:30pm Wednesday-Saturday. Closed Sun-Tue (temporary hours)
“At every turn, there are surprises blended with familiar flavors, comfortable dishes enhanced by technique, but not overpowered by it. It’s quite the kabuki played out in the kitchen in front of you as [chef Josh] Habiger and crew perform in an open setting.’
