The Nashville Symphony’s Board of Directors voted today to suspend all concert and event activity through July 31, 2021, and to furlough a total of 79 musicians and 49 full-time staff members – including Music Director Giancarlo Guerrero – effective July 1.  The Symphony is currently working to reschedule concerts originally planned for the 2020/21 concert season to the 2021/22 concert season. Current season ticket holders will be able to keep their existing seats for the postponed season, and the Symphony will be contacting all ticket holders about their options within the next few weeks.

(June 12, 2020)

Named in honor of the late Maestro Kenneth Schermerhorn who led the Nashville Symphony for 22 years, the Schermerhorn Symphony Center has been home to the critically acclaimed Nashville Symphony since its opening in September of 2006. The Nashville Symphony performs more than 100 classical, pops and special concert events each season and will present recitals, choral concerts, cabaret, jazz and world music events.

Our Response to COVID-19 :

In response to mounting concern about the spread of COVID-19, the Nashville Symphony is suspending all ticketed performances through July 3.

The Nashville Symphony is actively working to reschedule all performances that have been postponed to date, and will communicate updates to ticketholders as they are available.

The Symphony will continue posting updates via social media and online at NashvilleSymphony.org/coronavirus.

Ticketholders may email response@nashvillesymphony.org or call the Schermerhorn Box Office at (615) 687-6400 with questions. Email is strongly preferred, as a high volume of calls may result in extended wait times.

We are committed to the safety and well-being of everyone who visits our building, and we will be in touch as we make further updates to our concert calendar. As we work through this unprecedented time together, please know how much we value your patronage and support. We are honored to be your Nashville Symphony and to serve our community. While we may be unable to host you in our building right now, we hope that you will still be able to find comfort, strength, solace and inspiration through music, and we look forward to sharing live musical experiences with you again, as soon as we are able.
