The January 22 snowstorm in Middle Tennessee (aka #thundersnow) has brought with it tons of event cancellations and postponements. We’ll do our best to track what’s cancelled and what’s rescheduled here. If we’re missing an event, please add to the comments below. Thanks!
On Care for Our Common Home: Philosophical, Practical and Theological Perspectives on Pope Francis’ Eco- Encyclical at Vanderbilt Divinity School, January 22, has been cancelled. Parts 2 and 3 of this three part discussion are still scheduled for March 17 and 18.
The Nashville Symphony’s performance of The Legend of Zelda concert scheduled for Friday, January 22, has been moved to Friday, May 20, 2016, at 8:00pm. Tickets for the original date will be honored on the new date of May 20, 2016. Those who plan on attending the May 20 concert may bring their original tickets and present them to the usher. Those who cannot attend the rescheduled date will have until 2 p.m. on April 20 to exchange ticket(s) or receive a refund. After this date, no refunds or exchanges will be granted.
Cosi fan Tutte – The Friday, January 22 Nashville Opera performance of Cosi fan Tutte has been rescheduled for Monday, January 25 at 7 p.m. Tickets for Friday will be honored.
UPDATED: Kaki King: The Neck is a Bridge to the Body,
scheduled for 1/22 at Oz Arts Nashville, has been rescheduled for Saturday, 1/23 at 5:00 p.m. Original tickets will be honored. Both of these shows scheduled for 1/23 have now been cancelled. OZ will refund all tickets in full within 48 hours. Ticketholders should also look for an email confirmation.
Snap on 2&4 with Rahsaan Barber at Nashville Jazz Workshop on Friday, January 22 has been cancelled.
King Lear – The Nashville Shakespeare Festival’s performance of King Lear at the Troutt Theatre for Friday, January 22 has been cancelled.
Andre Watts’ performance with the Nashville Symphony scheduled for Saturday, January 23, has been moved to Sunday, March 20, 2016, at 8:00pm due to inclement weather in the area. Tickets for the original date will be honored on the new date of March 20, 2016. Those who plan on attending the March 20 concert may bring their original tickets and present them to the usher. Those who cannot attend the rescheduled date will have until 2:00pm on February 20 to exchange ticket(s) or receive a refund.
Steve Earle’s show with John Fulbright at City Winery on Friday, January 22 has been postponed. Ticket holders should be receiving an email with info.
The following performances have been cancelled at The Bluebird Cafe due to the inclement weather: In The Round with Thom Schuyler, Fred Knobloch, Tony Arata & Jellyroll Johnson and In The Round with David Newbould, Jon Byrd, Rosanne Drucker and Tom Mitchell.
The Belmont Men’s Basketball and Belmont Women’s Basketball games vs. TSU originally scheduled for Saturday, January 23 have been rescheduled. The doubleheader will take place on Sunday, January 24 at the Curb Event Center. The women will tip at 2:00 p.m. with the men squaring off at 4:00 p.m.
The Greensky Bluegrass show scheduled for Friday, January 22, at Marathon Music Works has been postponed.
Due to recent and continuing snowfall, the Nashville Zoo’s popular Zoo Run Run that was scheduled for Saturday, January 23 is being postponed to Saturday, January 30.
Pat McGee scheduled for Friday, January 22 at Exit/In has been cancelled due to the weather conditions.
The Saturday, January 23rd performance of Nashville Children’s Theatre’s Cinderella has been postponed to Saturday, January 30th at 11:00 a.m.
