The Studio 208

The Studio 208 was created by Ashley Bergeron Segroves, a Nashville based photographer. Ashley's passion is to connect artists to buyers through many avenues, including a mural project in East Nashville supported by The Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce #muralseast. She continues to support the project through fundraising, and matching building owners to artists. Ashley knew she wanted to impact the art community even more so she has graciously opened her personal studio to local, national and international artists. Ashley felt that the concept of invite only private viewing of the art would allow for collectors to spend more time with the art to insure their decision was perfect for their collection. Sit down with a glass of wine and memorable conversation with Ashley and you will quickly see her passion for the arts and her deepest sincerity that she wants all artists to thrive! The Wond’ry at Vanderbilt University

The Wond’ry is the epicenter for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Vanderbilt University. Its three story, 13,000-square foot space, located adjacent to the new state-of-the-art Engineering and Science Building, facilitates transinstitutional collaboration between students and faculty from all schools, levels, and disciplines. From engineers to scientists to entrepreneurs to artists, the Wond’ry is the primary point of connection for students interested in innovation and entrepreneurship. The Wond’ry is the catalyst for building and strengthening creativity across campus, fostering innovation in all fields, and forging a stronger “maker” culture at Vanderbilt University. At the Wond’ry there is something for everyone, from speaker series and workshops to makerspaces, interactive art exhibits and unique corporate partnerships. The Wond’ry provides students opportunities to gain real-world experience in creating new processes, building new technologies, and forming fresh insights. The Wond’ry is the epicenter for creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship on campus where discovery and learning are unleashed in an inclusive environment. Tinney Contemporary

Tinney Contemporary is a Nashville based art gallery specializing in collectible contemporary works by established local, regional, national, and international artists. They present a series of rotating exhibitions throughout the year. The gallery is led by Susan Tinney (Owner) and Joshua Edward Bennett (Gallery Manager). In addition to presenting exhibitions, they also provide professional art services to individual collectors, as well as banks, law firms, hotels, restaurants, hospitals, and other businesses. They assist their clients with every aspect of the process of selecting, purchasing, framing, and installing artwork. Tinney Contemporary is a participating gallery in the FirstBank First Saturday Art Crawl Downtown. Track One

Located just two miles from downtown Nashville and five minutes from Vanderbilt University, Track One houses over 20 local businesses and galleries. We office suites from 224 square feet to 5,000 square feet. Constructed in 1924 by the Nashville Decatur Railroad, Track One originally served as a feed & seed warehouse to regional farming communities. UltraViolet Gallery

UltraViolet Gallery is a photography and art gallery open on the first Saturday night of every month during the Nashville Art Crawl and is located upstairs in downtown Nashville’s historic Arcade. UltraViolet Gallery is home to Amiee Stubbs Photography and also serves as her photography studio. The UltraViolet Gallery space can be rented by artists and photographers who are interested in exhibiting their work during the Nashville Art Crawl.

Vanderbilt University - Sarratt Student Center/Rand Hall

The Sarratt Student Center is named for Charles Madison Sarratt (1888-1978), whose bust (and personal “mission statement”) decorate the original main entrance. Sarratt had a storied 62-year career, during which he taught mathematics, served as Dean of Students, Vice-Chancellor Emeritus, Dean of Alumni and (for four brief months in 1945), Chancellor Pro Tempore. Sarratt Student Center reflects the product of four distinct phases of construction. Rand Dining Hall was built in 1952, its location central to Vanderbilt Campus. In 1974, Sarratt was erected in the form of two buildings — the cinema/art gallery, and the Glove Lounge/Overcup Oak — joined by an elevated walkway, under which students could pass to reach Rand. The dining hall and bookstore were rebuilt and expanded in 1986 at a cost of $6 million. In 2000, the 56,000-square-foot Sarratt complex received an 18,000-square-foot expansion in the form of the enclosed Promenade and the 3rd floor Skylight. Student complaints of Sarratt’s being confusingly arranged, poorly lit and visually unnerving were addressed by joining the three separate Rand/Sarratt buildings into the single large structure of today. Vanderbit University Department of Art

The Art Department occupies the E. Bronson Ingram Studio Arts Center located in the heart of the Vanderbilt campus. The facility offers light-filled rooms for classes, individual studios for senior majors, a well-equipped lecture hall, galleries that can be expanded from one space to four to accommodate exhibitions and critiques and a spacious lounge. Among the benefits of the Art Building is the experimental gallery, Space 204, which hosts student shows as well as curated shows of current interest and which acts as a workshop for artists in residence. The first floor of the building also boasts an informal, open space for student work run by students themselves. These exhibition spaces are supplemented by numerous galleries on the Vanderbilt campus, including the Fine Arts Gallery at the Cohen Building and the nearby Sarratt Center. Nashville, with a lively and diverse creative community in the arts, offers further opportunities for the impressionable Art student who may take advantage of excellent museums, including The Frist Center for the Visual Arts, Cheekwood Museum of Art, and The Fisk University Art Museum, to name only a few of the city’s offerings. Vol State Art Gallery

The Vol State Art Gallery is located on the first floor of the Steinhauer-Rogan-Black (SRB) Humanities Building on the Gallatin campus at 1480 Nashville Pike. Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

WAG

WAG (Watkins Art Gallery) is located in Nashville’s hottest arts district, Wedgewood-Houston. The gallery is part of the renovated Packing Plant building, which houses other contemporary galleries. WAG is Watkins’s public exhibition space committed to Watkins students and faculty and the broader community through exhibitions and programs that enhance curriculum and draw new audiences to the visual arts. And Nashville’s Art Crawl—a Wedgewood-Houston tradition that happens on the first Saturday of every month—draws hundreds of art collectors, enthusiasts, and fellow artists to the district. A show at WAG means your work will be viewed by influential movers and shakers in the arts community of America’s “It” City and can serve as an important professional distinction in your journey as an artist.

Watkins College of Art

Important Announcement: Watkins College to Merge with Belmont University in Fall 2020 Over a century ago, Samuel Watkins, a former bond servant and self-educated Nashville businessman, envisioned an accessible school that would strengthen the city with free lectures and classes. His hopes were finally realized with the construction of Watkins Institute on his property in 1885. From these humble beginnings evolved one of the finest community-oriented art education facilities in the Mid-South. Watkins College of Art is a regionally and nationally accredited nonprofit independent college of the visual arts offering bachelor of fine arts (BFA) degrees in film, fine art, graphic design, illustration, interior design, and photography as well as a BA in art. Their graduate programs include two MFA degrees—in film and in visual arts. They also are a committed community partner, offering classes in a broad range of subjects for adults, teachers, and children of all ages through our Community Education programs. Woodland Gallery is a unique family-owned business, and has been featuring handcrafted items in their store since 2007. Owned and operated by Michael and Wendy Gustafson, Woodland Gallery represents many Tennessee craftsmen with talents that range from woodturning, pottery, and photography, to jewelry making and fiber art. Michael Gustafson offers fine art photographs of the Tennessee Landscape featuring many of our state parks and scenes in Sumner County. With over 20 years’ experience in Commercial Advertising photography, his work producing catalogs and brochures for many businesses, and his work in family portraiture continues to be the main focus of Michael Gustafson Photography. Zeitgeist

Zeitgeist has been a staple on the Nashville art scene since 1994. Started by Janice Zeitlin in Cummins Station, it has served as a cultivation ground for new artists and a safe place for established artists to experiment and grow. Under the direction of Lain York, Zeitgeist maintains a firm place in the Nashville art scene today. Bridging the gap between collectors and creators, Zeitgeist provides a venue for world class exhibits in the south. After 15 years in Hillsboro Village, Zeitgeist moved to its current location in Wedgewood/Houston in 2013.
