Black Rabbit

From talented chef-owner Trey Cioccia of The Farm House, Black Rabbit has been attracting crowds and acclaim for both its food as well as its bar offerings since its November 2017 opening next to downtown’s 21C Museum hotel just off Printers Alley. Bongo East/Game Point Cafe Our East Nashville location has two names and combines a traditional coffeehouse with the city’s first board game café. In 2000, Bongo helped kick-off the revitalization of the 5 Points business neighborhood by moving our coffee roasting operation there. The café portion was added almost as an after-thought. As the neighborhood grew around us, we moved the roasting division out to make room for tables and chairs. Now the café boasts a breakfast, lunch and snacking menu along with a coffee bar that features our 100% organic coffee and local craft brews. Our carefully curated selection of more than 700 board games is free for customers to enjoy. Game coaches are on hand in the evenings to teach, settle rule disputes and recommend new games. Bongo Java - Belmont

Former journalist and transplanted Chicagoan Bob Bernstein opened Nashville’s now-oldest independent coffee shop Bongo Java way back in 1993 in the hip Belmont/Hillsboro Village neighborhood. Since then Bernstein has done his best to keep Nashville’s java junkies full of local options beyond the giant Seattle chain the green logo, with sister Hillsboro Village spot Fido, a roasting company, and several other establishments from which to choose. Breakfast is served all day, with any number of satisfying and health-conscious options for lunch. Upstairs at Bongo is an intimate theater and music venue, the separately run Bongo After Hours Theatre. No alcohol available. Open 7:30 am-2:30 pm daily. Boqueria - Fifth + Broadway

Influenced by the buzzy atmosphere and delicious food of Barcelona, the 150-seat restaurant celebrates the vibrant communal spirit of tapas and small plates inspired by the season’s best produce. With deep roots in Washington D.C., Chicago and New York, and now in Nashville, Boqueria has built a reputation as a go-to destination for friends, family, and co-workers to connect over the sharing spirit of Spanish cuisine. Boqueria’s menu features classic Spanish dishes, infused with bold flavors and local ingredients. More of a burgers-and-beer joint than a diner — many locals swear by the cheeseburger — circa-1927 Brown's Diner isn't much to look at despite its address adjoining trendy Hillsboro Village. Not that Brown's faithful clientele minds. Some of the wait staff have been around long enough to have served multiple generations from the short but oh-so-sweet menu, which offers burgers, various simple sandwiches, chili, and a few sides, at bargain prices.
