Grannis Photography

Grannis Photography is a Nashville-based photography studio focused on portraiture and commercial work. We also have an extensive collection of vintage Nashville photographs taken by the late Bob Grannis. Grannis chronicled Nashville life in photographs from 1939 until his retirement in 1997. His photographs of schools, sports, the Grand Ole Opry, and the Nashville cityscape often evoke fond reminiscences among natives of the city. A stout man, Grannis was well known as "Nashville's Largest Photographer." In 1997, Leila Grossman purchased Grannis Photography and the archive. Source: website

The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum preserves and interprets Historic RCA Studio B as a legacy landmark in the rich history of popular music in Nashville and the U.S. The Museum makes Studio B accessible to the public through regular tours, educational programs, and events. Built in 1957, RCA Studio B became known as the birthplace for the “Nashville Sound,” a style characterized by background vocals and strings that helped establish Nashville as an international recording center, located on Nashville's Music Row. After exploring the Museum’s galleries, the Historic RCA Studio B Tours will transport guests back to moments that made history. Jefferson Street Sound Museum

Jefferson Street Sound Museum (JSSM) is a non-profit, 501(c)3 established to preserve the music & entertainment history of Jefferson Street and collaborate with public schools, other non-profit services and community organizations in Nashville (including Greater Nashville and surrounding areas) to provide arts and music programs and networking opportunities. Their programs and services target individuals interested and/or gifted in the areas of music with the influence of historic artifacts, sounds and other learning instruments, and those interest in the preservation of a key industry in Nashville’s history. Located on historic Jefferson Street, the JSS facilities which consist of a music production studio, rehearsal hall and museum that are unique and versatile spaces with a intimate creative atmosphere. Their full service music production studio and band rehearsal staging hall are perfect for major recording projects, band practicing and/or mini show cases. Nashville Jazz Workshop

The Jazz Workshop has come to serve as a gathering place for musicians, students, and jazz fans, and is part of the “glue” for what used to be a fragmented jazz scene: Top professionals teach at the Workshop and play together in a superior performance venue. Artists have developed at the Jazz Workshop, recorded CD’s, and have become favorites on the local jazz scene. Student groups have emerged from the Workshop and found performance venues, adding to the availability and diversity of jazz in the community. They work together with local and regional jazz organizations, radio stations, schools, festivals, and other arts groups. The NJW has become, in the words of one student, Nashville’s “community center for jazz.” The mission of the Nashville Jazz Workshop is to expand and enrich people's lives by offering world class jazz education and performance in supportive and creative environments. Nashville Education, Community, and Arts Television (NECAT) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization with a mission that is twofold: 1. Expose Middle Tennessee viewers to arts and education programming created both locally and around the world. 2. Teach individuals and organizations who wish to make TV shows how to do so, let them use our equipment and resources, then broadcast those shows for them. We run three public television channels that have served the community since the 1970s. These channels are Music City Arts (our arts channel), iQtv (our education channel), and Access Nashville (our community access channel). All three channels are 24 hours a day and are broadcast on television via Comcast channels 9, 10, and 19 in Davidson County, via AT&T U-Verse channel 99 in 19 Middle Tennessee counties*, and live-streamed on the internet 24 hours a day.
