Belmont University is a student-centered Christian community providing an academically challenging education that empowers men and women of diverse backgrounds to engage and transform the world with disciplined intelligence, compassion, courage and faith. Belmont is among the fastest growing Christian universities in the nation with more than 5,900 students hailing from every state and 25 countries. Since 2000, enrollment has risen from just under 3,000 to 5,936 students for 2010-11, marking an increase of 99 percent. As enrollment steadily increases, so does the quality and diversity of each new class. Incoming 2010-11 freshmen represented 44 states and four foreign countries and scored an average of 26 on the ACT. Belmont University - Massey Performing Arts Center (MPAC)

The Massey Performing Arts Center houses both instructional and performance spaces. Home to Belmont's primary performance venues, MPAC is in motion year round with student recitals, concert events, school assemblies, classes and musical productions. Also home to MPAC are several teaching studios and practice rooms, three large classrooms and a full dance studio. Massey Concert Hall is our 1,000-seat auditorium with its state-of-the-art live audio production capabilities. Serving both commercial and classical genres, Massey Concert Hall has held numerous events and recitals with top named artists and musicians. Country artists (such as Vince Gill, Billy Dean and Crystal Gayle), rock artists (such as Jars of Clay), CCM artists (such as Rebecca St. James and Bob Carlyle) as well as many of our own renown music faculty have all performed on the Massey stage. Extensive costume and set design productions for Belmont Opera Theatre and Belmont Musical Theatre have provided beneficial in-house training for students in the musical arts. Source: website

E. Bronson Ingram Studio Arts Center

The E. Bronson Ingram Studio Arts Center is the home of the Vanderbilt University Department of Art, Space 204 (the contemporary gallery space), and the Studio VU Lecture Series. It can be found at the corner of 25th Avenue South and Garland Avenue and is marked with the sculptural work called Tumbleweed, by sculptor Mark di Suvero.

East Side Art Stumble

As of January 2022, the East Side Art Stumble is on pause due to COVID, weather, and scheduling changes. The community and visitors are encouraged to check out the galleries in East Nashville during their normal business hours and/or by appointment. The East Side Art Stumble is a monthly event produced through the partnership of galleries, businesses and artists to bring people to East Nashville and showcase the neighborhood’s remarkable pool of creative talent. It takes place on the second Saturday of each month from 6pm to 10pm, rain or shine. The galleries, businesses, and studios stretch across the neighborhoods of East Nashville and Inglewood. Galleries and arts businesses all over East Nashville and Inglewood host exhibitions and openings that are free to the public. Other venues may be participating, check your favorite East Nashville gallery's social media to keep up to date. Ed Nash Fine Art Studio

Ed Nash was born in Letchworth Garden City, England but has been a Nashville resident for fifteen years and is a well recognized abstract artist of the South. At the age of 13, Ed was awarded an art scholarship to Bedford School in England. He then went on to study Fine Art and Psychology at Reading University - graduating Magna Cum Laude. After several years as an art dealer and appraiser, he went back to pursue his life long dream of becoming a full time visual artist. Much of his work has a deep connection with the Japanese aesthetic wabisabi, which can be described as one of beauty that is imperfect, impermanent and incomplete. His paintings and mixed media work are a response to modern day society’s view of visual perfection. The work reflects and celebrates the patina produced through the passage of time and exposure to the elements. Source: website

Global Education Center

The Global Education Center is a nonprofit arts education center for students, teachers and the community in the area of multicultural, anti-bias education. Using the arts as a pathway to understanding the various cultural, ethnic and religious groups residing in the community, the Center's staff and teaching and performing artists present ongoing classes, workshops, lecture-demonstrations and performances to promote cross-cultural understanding and respect. The overall goal is to highlight the commonalties of all people while creating experiences in the arts that aid in dispelling myths, dismantling stereotypes and unlearning biases.

Grandpa's House/Ritter Farm
