Apollo Middle Prep

School

Apollo Middle Prep opened in 1968, in honor of the three astronauts who lost their lives on the Apollo spacecraft just a year earlier. Since its founding, our school has evolved and grown into one that is now known for its diversity, educational rigor, heavy integration of technology and a focus on the arts. In 2010, Apollo underwent major renovations to add a new wing, nearly doubling the size of the available classrooms. In May 2014, construction began on a brand-new library, funded by former Mayor Karl Dean’s office and in collaboration with the Limitless Libraries program. This $500,000 renovation included adding a classroom, three student production rooms, iPad stations, charging lockers and a full maker space. Apollo has been steadily improving for the past five years, making substantial gains in all tested subject areas. In August 2015, Apollo was named a Rewards School, meaning that it was in the top 5% of schools for achievement growth on state tests. Armour's Red Boiling Springs Hotel

Armour’s Hotel has one of the only mineral bathhouses still operating in Tennessee, coupled with the availability of Licensed Massage Therapists. Advance notice is required for massage therapy. The Armour’s Red Boiling Springs Hotel is a two-story native brick structure built in 1924 by attorney John Smith and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was first called Smith’s Brick Hotel, being the first brick hotel structure in town. Later, and for most of its existence, it was known as the Counts Hotel. In 1991, Brenda and Bobby Thomas renamed the hotel of today. Unfortunately, throughout the years, the conditions had deteriorated slightly. Desires to preserve Red Boiling Springs’ history motivated the Thomas’ to purchase the hotel. Immediately beginning renovation of the building continued their efforts to help revitalize the healing tradition of the area for any year-round guest. The Armour’s is now owned by Dennis and Debra Emery. They assumed ownership August 29, 2008, from Laban and Reba Hilton who owned and operated the hotel since 1999. Dennis and Debra have embarked on a complete refurbishment and redecoration of the hotel and invite you to come and share their home and see the improvements! Source: venue website

This is a working ranch that teaches the importance of hard work and team building in a spiritual family environment. The boys live in a home with a married Christian couple serving as house parents. Art at the Arcade

Art at the Arcade is a group of individual artists, art galleries, and shops located in the Arcade Building in downtown Nashville Tennessee. The Group is solidifying the presence of art in Nashville and participating in the creation of a true art district. Until recently a cohesive art district was non-existent, but thanks to Art at the Arcade people now have several art spaces to visit within one building. Art at the Arcade is working with other galleries and artists within downtown Nashville and surrounding areas to propel local arts to a level the city has not seen. The Arcade galleries participate in the FirstBank First Saturday Art Crawl Downtown.
