The Ajax Turner Senior Citizens Center was originally founded on October 25, 1965 in what is now the white building at the corner of Crossland avenue and Pagent lane. A copy of the original Charter for a senior citizens center in Montgomery county can be downloaded here. In 1983 the center moved to it’s current location at 953 Clark Street. The Senior Center is a United Way funded agency. It is additionally funded by the City of Clarksville, the State of Tennessee, and fund raisers conducted by the center itself. From the very beginning, the center’s primary and fundamental mission has been to provide senior citizens, in Montgomery County and surrounding areas, with programs and services which can enhance their quality of life.
