Opened in September 2018 in the Vertis Green Hills development, steakhouse and piano bar Char is owned by the 4-Top Hospitality group (Amerigo, Etch, Etc, Jasper’s). Previous Char locations opened in Jackson, Mississippi, and Memphis. Expect a modern Southern menu specializing in prime steaks, including a chili-rubbed cowboy ribeye, and specialties such as cornbread-dusted red fish with cheddar grits. Live piano jazz music in the lounge area from 6-9 pm Thu-Sat. On Sundays, a jazz trio performs during brunch between 11 am-2 pm.
Full bar. Open for lunch and dinner 11 am-10 pm Mon-Sat, 10 am-9 pm Sun. Sat brunch 11 am-2 pm, Sun brunch 10 am-2 pm.
