Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, Fort Negley was the largest and most important of the fortifications built by Union forces after Nashville fell in 1862. Fort Negley Park is open during daylight hours for self-guided walking tours. Fort Negley Visitors Center is open September to May, Tuesday-Friday Noon-4pm, Saturday 9am-4pm. June through August hours are Tuesday-Thursday Noon-4pm, Friday and Saturday 9am-4pm.
