Opened in 1991, the Walter Criley Radnor Lake Visitor Center provides trail maps, brochures, monthly program schedules, birding checklists and display cases ranging from the cultural history of the natural area to the birds, mammals and reptiles of the surrounding ecosystem. This facility also houses the park offices and is the primary facility that most of the ranger-led environmental education programs are conducted for park visitors.
Renovations for the building were completed thanks to funding from the State of Tennessee, the Barbara J. Mapp Foundation and Friends of Radnor Lake on June 16th, 2015.
The Walter Criley Visitor Center is a great starting point for first time park visitors who can view a wall size map of the trail system and view interpretive exhibits about the natural area, its history and how Radnor Lake was saved in the early 1970’s.
