See Nashville Zoo in a whole new light this winter at Zoolumination: Chinese Festival of Lights. This event, which runs from Nov. 15 – Feb. 2, is the largest lantern festival in the country, displaying more than 500 handmade lanterns, including a dragon the size of a football field.
A team of Chinese artists traveled across the globe to build and re-imagine your favorite zoo animals in a bright and colorful way through intricately designed lanterns. Guests can see displays of rhinos, giraffes, elephants and dozens more in uniquely-themed animal and flower scenes throughout the Zoo.
Plus, select animal exhibits will be open late, including Sumatran tiger, Andean bear, Caribbean flamingos and the Unseen New World.
Visitors wanting to get in the holiday spirit can enjoy the life-sized creation of Santa’s village that features multiple buildings and a train made entirely out of lanterns. The scene is also home to holiday trees and festive lights, making this a must-see holiday event. Expect Santa visits each night until Dec. 23, along with performances by local bands and choirs on select nights.
Zoolumination is great for anyone looking for a date night, family adventure or excuse to get out of the house because this event welcomes more than just spectacular lantern displays.
The Zoo is pulling out all the stops by opening its grounds to Chinese acrobats and entertainers, offering traditional Chinese dishes for guests to enjoy and selling authentic handmade crafts.
The Zoo is also offering holiday group packages for groups of 20+ and exclusive holiday party packages for anyone wanting to add a wild twist to their annual work or family gathering.
